Philippians 4:4 has long been one of my favorite scriptures. It says, “Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say rejoice.” I have found that when I am surrounded by people who love me and care about me I can rejoice in the face of any difficulty. By trusting in God and relying on the kindness and compassion of the church people, I have found the strength to rejoice even in the midst of the greatest trials. We invite you to find that same peace that leads to rejoicing by joining us at Friendship United Methodist Church in Porter, Texas. While I have only been here a short time, I have learned that this congregation truly deserves the name “Friendship.” If you are hurting, struggling with life issues, or simply need a friend, give us a try and we will do all we can to share the Lord’s blessings with you. And may the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard your heart and mind. Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say rejoice!
